CURAFA is proud to announce the opening of a new Curafa Medical Clinic at Tatu City, in partnership with Tatu City and Access Afya, a Kenyan healthcare enterprise that manages the Curafa franchise network.

The new clinic expands access to affordable, high-quality primary healthcare for residents and workers in and around the 5,000-acre mixed-use development. Strategically located near the city’s main entrance, the clinic will serve more than 10,000 local community members and thousands of employees working across Tatu City.

Bringing Essential Health Services Closer to Communities

Under the Curafa Medical Clinic model, the new facility provides comprehensive, integrated primary care — including chronic disease management, family planning, laboratory testing, child immunisations and nutrition, pre- and post-natal care, general outpatient consultations, and first aid.

Speaking at the launch, Perminas Marisi, Head of City Management at Tatu City, said:

“We are delighted to open this facility today as part of our commitment to social transformation and improving the lives of the local community through jobs, capacity building, and accessible healthcare.”

Expanding the Curafa Network

The new Curafa clinic is part of CURAFA’s mission to bring quality healthcare closer to underserved communities through localised, community-based clinics.

Daphne Ngunjiri, CEO of Access Afya — the implementing partner for Curafa clinics — said:

“We are excited to expand Curafa to Tatu City and are confident that customers will appreciate our seven-day-a-week affordable healthcare services, with consultations starting at KES 100 and annual coverage from KES 1,500.”

Each Curafa clinic is powered by AfyaSmart, a digital health platform that tracks quality indicators, patient outcomes, and clinic performance in real time — ensuring every patient receives consistent, effective care.

A Partnership for Community Wellbeing

The launch of Curafa Tatu City reflects CURAFA’s strong commitment to collaboration and local impact. By working with Tatu City, the franchise model brings accessible healthcare directly into a thriving, mixed-use environment — combining residential, industrial, and educational spaces.

This partnership reinforces both organisations’ shared mission: to improve health outcomes and quality of life through inclusive, sustainable development.

Empowering Communities Through Partnerships

Tatu City has a long-standing history of community empowerment through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which include free vocational training at the Tatu City Training Academy. Over 500 individuals have been trained in masonry, plumbing, plastering, steel fixing, and security, with more than 80% securing employment within Tatu City.

The Tatu City Labour Desk also supports a network of over 7,000 community members, providing work opportunities on a rotational basis. These programmes align closely with CURAFA’s mission to build healthier, more resilient communities by addressing both health and economic wellbeing.
